Silent Disapproval Robot

Is the 2nd mission in the German campaign busted for anyone else?

After the first attack by the T-34s is repelled (or repealed according to the game), I'm ordered to get in a Kubelwagon and go check on our arty spotter in the windmill.  I get in the Kubelwagon and then.....we just sit.....and sit.....and sit....and then explode.

If I ignore the orders to get in the wagon and run up to the windmill, I can trigger the next bits in the script, but then when the 2nd T-34 attack starts, the game seems to have no idea what it wants me to do and just orders me to sit in a Kubelwagon again until I die.

Well, do we like it or not?

Well, just finished the tutorial..pretty standard stuff....however, upon loading the first mission, my game locked up:(  My games never lock up so hopefully not a sign of bad things to come.

Mine crashed on me once on the transition to the first mission, but has been fine since.

I restarted and got it to work...but on that mission, I am completely stuck on how to tow the gun.  Really no instructions on how to do so.

Unhitch it, then put it in combat mode.  Once you've done that, get in the gunner's seat and bring up the context menu and you'll see a PUSH option.  Then just use your movment keys or joystick to push it into place.

I just downloaded and installed the patch, but I stupidly grabbed the wrong one and installed the patch for the retail version of the game.  Now it gives me a "disc not found" error.

I was confused...thought it had to be in mobile mode to make it move:)  It worked finally with your instructions.  If you bought from Gamersgate, I believe you don't need the patch.  My version engine was 1.60 which I believe is the patch.

Silent Disapproval Robot

I had the same thinking as well but after I couldn't get it to move in mobile mode, I figured it was time to experiment.

I'm still re-installing the game (glad I didn't delete the install files) but the patch installer says it's to go from 1.60 to 1.61.  At least that's what the one for the boxed version said.  Hopefully the DD one will work (and that the DRM hasn't screwed me with the re-install).

I am having a similar issue as you on the 2nd mission now.  My car does move, but it goes crazy.  The driver takes the car into a field and then gets stuck in a dead end....nothing I can do about it....hideous path finding for this driver.  Guess I will have to restart.

One thing I will have to say, I am hoping all these cut scenes and introductions get toned down as you get deeper into the game.  Right now I am spending more time listening and watching, versus participating in the game.  Not liking that aspect at all.

I believe you are correct...I just installed the patch and it is more recent...maybe it will correct a few things.

However, after applying the patch, my previosu save no longer works:(

Based on this I'm going to hold off buying the game until I get more friendly words.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Yup, patch fixed the issue for me but I see what you mean about the driver.  Mine took the scenic route, slammed into an anti-tank tetrahedron a few times, got past that, then hit a few fences, some barbed wire, and a tree before getting to the hill.  I got up there and cleared things out, then was ordered to try and spot the enemy mortar team.  I did that and the game crashed again.

With the patch, my driver actually improved...however, I restarted this mission from the start because of the corrupt save.  I am now on to the next part.....just not sure how I am liking it so far...

Probably a smart move....maybe the price reduction on release day was a signal of possible concerns:)

Not giving up yet, but not necessarily "feeling it" just yet...

I'm still stuck on the end of that mission.  When the 2nd wave of T-34s show up, they roll right through and the Germans don't fire a shot.

For me, I really didn't do much in that mission, my team handled it.  Only thing I did was shot the driver of the tank when he bailed.
