I created an account with them, but I usually don't log in when I play.

I never created one, because I figure.. I'm logged into Steam that's good enough.. but I guess I probably can't do MP without an account correct?

No idea.

I'm not even sure what multiplayer consists of.  I got it solely for singleplayer since it's one of those grand strategy games that takes awhile to finish a campaign.

Not to purchase the DLC, no.  You only need an account for MP action.

I'm glad they're focusing on PBEM first.  There's enough variety to the game that focusing on additional functionality rather than additional content seems like a sound decision to me.

But then, I don't like skeleton porn either...  :)

Be glad to have you.  Not sure I could suffer a PBEM game of anything, though.  Did that with Civ III a few years ago with W8taminute.  Took us about six months.
