Maybe that explains why Rachel started buying up random local numbers and dialing us from there. We hadn't noticed that until this year. Not only have I blocked at least three such numbers on my business cell phone (not counting the business land line), but not 30 minutes after I posted here last "Rachel" called on my cell phone again!!

Creepy. I'm being psychically stalked by a robocaller, who knows when I'm talking bad about her...


By the way, have y'all noticed an uptick on robocallers recently who have intentionally been recorded to sound like they're real people fumbling around on the phone? It's bad enough when I have to listen to a legitimate help-desk robogremlin pretending to type in the background when accessing its file.  :buck2:

Come to think of it, I am flatly amazed that someone hasn't tried to build a scam on making sure you get "your refund" from the "Rachel" FTC penalty. ;)

I'm too busy with all the Canadian and U.N. lotteries I've won, not to mention the line of Nigerian's stretching down the block who want to transfer millions to me.....I don't have time to win any more money.

I waited for the rep to answer when "Rachel," called once.  I told the man I didn't own any credit cards and would they please remove my number.  He told me he would...if I sang him a song.  So, I tunefully sang, "F&^% YOU! TAKE MY NUMBER OFF THE LIST!!!!  F(*& YOU! TAKE MY NUMBER OFF THE LIST!!!!!!!!!!," and hung up.  They haven't stopped.  I guess they like my song.

After getting one of those calls a while back I waited for the 'agent' and then told him he had called the service phone at the town police station's booking desk, where all incoming calls were recorded and sourced. He sputtered an apology and hung up.

It could be my imagination but the calls did seem to slow for a month or two.

I answered the phone once with the classic, "It's done. But there's blood everywhere."

I heard a shocked gasp as I hung up.  >:D
