QuoteSo you've got hell. You've got the capability to send a spaceship into hell. What do you need to add to that? Space marines. Lots of space marines

I wanted to insert an animated gif of Raul Julia saying "Of Course!" But the internet has failed me. Please use imagination here.
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

Sir Slash

Kind of sounds like "Doom" to me. Wasn't that already Rock-ed... or done I mean?
"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

Not animated but here:

At some point in the distant past (or future, whatever) wasn't there supposed to be a Doom movie?

Heh.  That was for Gus's benefit, in case he decides to go and watch it.

I remember PC Zone magazine being amazingly hyped for it and basically told their whole readership to go see it.  When it eventually came out, they felt so guilty they actually offered to refund people's ticket costs.

Sir Slash

I concur on the shitiness of Doom the movie. Hell and Outer Space just don't work well together for me. Even Pin-Head couldn't pull it off.

Oh, that goddamn Hellraiser series...what a mess THAT was. "Hey, here's a set of weird rules that we're going to COMPLETELY CHANGE every single time we release a movie! And they'll get crappier every time!" I made it through 3, then decided that I had better things to do...and I'm the guy who enjoyed Sharknado!

Sir Slash

I liked the first couple but when it got into outer space, that's when I bailed. Seems like there's nothing Hollywood won't keep re-doing until they kill it.  >:(

I rarely ever suggest remakes or reboots or other charlatanism, but maybe a remake of Event Horizon would be worth it. Star's girlfriend would love it.

Or a sequel: the original holds up fine today (or so I imagine from what I remember watching it, and seeing the occasional screengrab), and it ended with some sequel bait.

Good point.

A sequel to Event Horizon would be the better choice.  Lots of potential with the story, as that concept was a big draw IMO.

^Someone out there has to be putting a treatment together for Event Horizon II: Apologies to Sam Neill.

Oh well off to watch the Doom movie...
