Whoever wants a free Gamersgate version of Sword of Islam let me know. Found out its not compatible with the Steam version. Oh well, you can benefit from my stupidity. First come first serve or whoever I like the most.

I'll take it please, thank you.

I'll be more than happy to reimburse you.

No reimbursement needed. PM me your email so I can send it.

^Where the hell have you been?

So I bought it but can't install it because Steam can't find the license update...can someone explain this to me?

Gus, I had the same issue. I shut down steam, waited about 10 minutes, restarted it and the DLC downloaded.

Yeah, Steam sometimes needs to be restarted to download DLC. I also had to download it from the ingame store with my GG copy. Not the most elegant of installation methods.

Anybody had the time to play this new content or the major patch?  Impressions?  Does things seem better, worse, or the same?

I'll ask this question here too:

Anyone know if I have to update to 1.6 first if I'm also buying Sword of Islam?  Or will purchasing the latter make getting the patch a moot point?

^The patch was applied once the DLC was applied. I started the game and the DLC suddenly snapped-to and got itself going.

So...I don't think you have to update to 1.6 if you have a Steam copy of CKII vanilla. Steam (your former sworn enemy) will do it for you.

Actually, I got my copy of CK2 from GamersGate.  :P

No idea.  That's why I was asking, to be honest.

Click on the "Check for Updates" tab on the start-up, then download and apply the update.

The DLC itself was completely v1.6 so you shouldn't have to patch beforehand - it'll be included.

You would only need to use the v1.6 update if you did not buy the Islam DLC, since it will bring the base game code up-to-date.

As far as I remember, expansions were always released with the new updates included - it's the norm.

My GG experience.

Bought the game from the website.  No installer.
Updated CK II using the launcher.
Ran the game.  Clicked the "Sword of Islam" announcement in the menu to activate the DLC list.
Click Sword of Islam for redownload.
Restart the game.

Just be happy you didn't have to wait two weeks for your key to be sent to you, like some of us who purchased DCS Black Shark through Steam.   What a mess that was.  :-\
