I tried out Blood Rage at the FLGS last night.  It was fun enough but not really my cup of tea.  It reminded me of Cyclades but with a Viking mythos theme instead of a Greek one.  It seems to be very popular with the local crowd but it's not something I'd buy.

I've got some friends who play Blood Rage. I played it a couple of times but grew tired of it.

PE, Posthuman is a hoot. You'll like that. The more the merrier.

Played Champions of Midgard and really liked it. Worker placement + combat + vikings = win

Played Kings of War last night and really enjoyed it.

After selling off a lot of stuff collecting dust on my shelf I have turned by attention to restocking my space     I would like to start mixing in more operational Wargames and maybe get a little deeper into that area from where I have been.  Here are a couple of things I picked up.



LIGHT DIVISION
Light Division published by 3W in 1989.  This is an operational game set in the Middle-East Gulf area where the Iranians close the Strait of Hormuz and the US response with a rapid deployment of forces.  There are 5 scenarios involving US Incursion, and even Soviet Intervention.   I thought with the time period and setting of the scenarios, this looked interesting to me even though it was received with mixed results, however after reading the following AAR, I believe it could be a very good find.

LONDON'S BUNRING
London's Burning is an Avalon Hill game from 1995. A different take on the BoB with a more direct approach with limited scale to fighting the Hun.  Solitaire only and pretty well received.




TRAJAN
Not the Trajan your thinking of... this one is from Decision Games and was published in 1991 and was a magazine game.  This one deals with the campaigns of Emperor Marcus Trajan from 114 to 117 AD.  I know Marco was impressed and so was I after watching the review with the design and it is very solo friendly. 




TARGET EARTH
Published by Gen-X Games in 2010, it was an unheard of title for me until I ran across a LP.  Basically the game is an X-Com style game where an Alien Invasion has taken place and countries are aligned with the Aligns or the Resistance.  After seeing it played I was very intrigued by the mechanics, but overall it looked like a fun game.




FIELD COMMANDER ALEXANDER
Truth be told I just picked this one up in a simple trade because I own all the other games in the series and wanted to complete the collection.  I know Derek thinks highly of it and it has been on my list for a while.
