Maybe Rickon and Osha's hand is much stronger.  Maybe the Umber's have everything they need to defeat Ramsay and this is just the opening ploy.  Doesn't seem in character for Umber to give up Stark.

I am kind of thinking the whole Rickon thing being a setup....doesn't seem like Umber would need help with Wildlings, plus pretty sure his family was strong ally to the Starks....just doesn't add up.  Have a feeling he is a "mole" setting up eventually helping return Winterfell to its rightful owners.

Interesting theory. But who would orchestrate such a move? Too quick for Jon. The Red Witch? Little Funger?

I believe they have hinted the last couple of seasons when the Bolten's took over that many of the Northern houses still were loyal and didn't one of the helpers say something to Sansa last year about people being ready to help the Stark's if needed?  So I kind of think there is a coalition being formed behind the scenes and possibly Umber is the leader of it all...just a theory.  Maybe Littlefinger involved as well since he is missing in action and maybe trying to take fore himself...not sure.  But I would bet on this being some kind of trick for one reason or another.

From the that article, I kind of thought the same that the wolf head seemed smaller too....I guess we'll find out if any of the theories are true, just seems like this one might be right.

The thing is, if you only watch the show and don't read the books, then you don't know how staunch the Umber support of House Stark has been over the years.

That's probably true....and if we were following the books, then umber showing up at all would have been impossible:)

Good episode!  Beginning to end, showing us stuff we didn't know we wanted to see until we saw it.  Outstanding!

It was decent, but a little slow for me tonight.  Just some of the many story lines I don't have interest, especially the whole sparrow stuff. I am sure important to the story, but just don't find it interesting compared to the other things.

Agreed.  I think this is the episode to beat so far.  Just packed full of Cool Stuff.

Looks like Daenerys managed to get herself yet another army!  Didn't Jorah say there were something like 100,000 Dothraki in that camp?  :o

I was surprised to read somewhere that after this season, only 13 more episodes are planned to finish the story....if that is true, got a lot of material to cover between now and then
