Eh, could have been better, could have been a lot worse. I can't believe HTrail didn't mention the most blatantly obvious plot-fart, though: Quicksilver's key motive is to find and reconcile with his Dad, and is set up with a perfect opportunity to do so in a way that would be meaningful not only for both of them but also in SAVING THE WORLD -- and then just kind of chickens out of it?

You can thank the studio's Chinese viewer & translation friendliness method for that.  It was obviously created with overseas consumption squarely in mind.  Where it's far easier to please moviegoers with CGI explosions, thin plot, and dull generic jokes.

I totally get pandering to the Chinese market, as there's literally hundreds of millions of dollars potentially to be made, there...but not at the expense of logic (even if it is movie logic) within a story. It's very much ruining movies.

The original ID was a decent flick; I was visiting family in San Antonio and saw it with a friend. Liked it so much I told my family that I was visiting about it, and they wanted to see it, so I saw it again the next day at another theater.

I gotta wonder if big actors see themselves in these movies and cringe in their seats at all, even with a ridiculously gigantic paycheck and an entire subset of the media fully dedicated to everything they wear, eat, and do reporting on them like they're demi-gods. I guess it's easy for those actors to get wrapped up in that reality and forget and not give two shites.
