Jake's praying for snow.  Lots and lots of snow.  And when that day ends, he wants more.  6-8 day every day all winter long would make him happy.  Just he can run that tractor and snowblower.

Snow is something to enjoy as a kid. Before you have to move it or drive in it.

Or walk the dog in it.

Granted, my dog grew up in Hawaii but damn.  When he can't actually smell the grass, it is just PAINFUL to get him to pee and poo.  I mean, more painful than a soldier going through an advanced training school eating MREs for two weeks.   :o

We had a layer of ice on top of 5 inches of snow one time.  I had to break through it so the dog could get a grip to take a dump.  Otherwise he just slid when he tried.

Maybe all dogs are not like mine, but mine is super-territorial and will only pee if he can smell his spot.  So we walk in the snow and he just sniffs and then looks around with this bewildered look on his face like WTF? 

And he shivers uncontrollably the whole time, but won't speed things up.  It truly doesn't matter how appalling the weather is; he will measure his pee out for the entire walk and if you shortchange him he unloads the excess on the carpet when nobody is looking.

I'm not sure if it comes through, but I am not a dog person.  I have the number to the pound on speed dial on my phone.  If I was certain my wife wouldn't divorce me, he'd already be gone.  Yeah, I said that.

You and your dog seem to be on par for dealing with New England Winters.

I'm dropping him off when I visit Maine.  Hope you like the sound of furious barking every time a pickup truck drives by.

We have ways of dealing with that in Maine. Just tell the kids he's at the 'Daisy Hill Puppy Farm'.
