LB I humbly submit that perhaps its time to move onto a new rig.  That thing seems to have given you nothing but troubles.

There is a method to the madness.

Not that my method explains *all* my madness. But I digress.

I bought the Best Buy protection plan. 3 year warranty. Fine. The cool thing is that if it has three serious breakages, they give me a new one.

Now here's the deal: I serious abuse my systems. Not in the dropped-in-a-pool-of-hot-lava sense, but in the sense that I play all kinds of beta games, heavy, graphics-intensive shooters and RTSs. And I play them hard and often. Something always breaks.

If the third break is within about 2 1/2 years, the current model of laptop is long out of production. So I get a new one. Works fairly well.

Of course, the downside to that plan is that my laptop will be out of commission for a couple of weeks every now and then.

The upside of being able to bring a gaming rig anywhere I travel, however, is worth it. So it balances out.

I had an Asus gaming rig; it was a complete POS.  Now I have a Sager and its awesome.

Mine is an Asus gaming laptop. Other than the ongoing problem of overheating, it's been fairly solid.

Mind you, I prefer to see it overheat once in a while. That keeps my mad scientist scheme rolling. If it worked properly, I'd have wasted $300 on the warranty.

I stopped buying Asus motherboards a few years ago.  They've really gone downhill in their quality, and I'm sure the same could be said for all their other hardware these days.

Sager makes kick-ass stuff - they've been around for years and survived with very little PR compared to some of the major lemon brands.

I am waiting for the patch/content (I dont know what they are calling it exactly) pay for upgrade of the base game.  I would like to see how that plays out for gameplay etc.  Right now I prefer the wego system but I do run into issues in longer scenarios where I have to do gamey things like pause for 30 seconds prior to firing to conserve ammo etc. which of course screws up suppression.
