Might want to wait for the rush to die down. Steam's store page is now laggy as hell. I wouldn't want to try transactions with it right now.

I'm honestly feeling pretty meh about the sale. Not about the sale itself, I'm just glutted for games I haven't gotten thoroughly into yet. I may get The Forest at last and, relatedly, The Long Dark. but even then I've got plenty of survival games I haven't fully delved yet.

I dunno, I've found a few I've been wanting to have. Fallout 4 (14.99), two Telltale games (GotG and Batman, 12.49 and 7.49 respectively), and Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 (13.38). That's all I saw with a quick look; there may be more.

LOL...just so you don't think I'm entirely stupid (just somewhat), when I typed Slitherine nothing came up in the drop down list like it does with games.  You have to hit enter anyway, and then the list appears. Regardless, thanks!   :o

Looking at both of those also. Looking for a new a shiny open world survival game. I bought the Long Dark when it was in early access and refunded it, almost had the feeling of a time management game, constant food, warmth, with little break as i remember. Maybe its changed a bit, not sure. There is always grinding in these type games but it just seemed more constant in The Long Dark. I'll probably pull the trigger on the The Forest.

If your a survival game person here's some i can recommend, there all in various stages of early access but playable with enough content currently.
Empyrion: Galactic Survival
Subnautica- Survival in a mostly water world
7 Days to Die- Zombie survival- after 900+ hours i'm a wee bit burnt out of it, at least until the next big update.
PAMELA- Futuristic survival in a city. not as much content as the others at this time.
Subsistence- kind of a real life survival so to speak, no zombies or monsters, just hunters and dangerous animals. Not as much content as the top 3.

PAMELA and Subsistence haven't been in early access as long as the others. These are all still updated regularly, been a bit for 7 days to die but i read there doing bigger updates then a lot of quick small ones, which is good as you don't have to restart all the time.

Yeah, I have an AAR about that here called "Seven Days to Fly". I like it, too, but haven't felt like going back to it yet.

I can relate; I've played a few dozen of those hours with you. ;) (And another several dozen more with other people or by myself.) I would like it a lot more if I had something to aim for other than to stave off suicide another day.

PAMELA- Futuristic survival in a city. not as much content as the others at this time.

I'm keeping an eye on both of those.

I also own ARK: Survival Evolved, and am preparing to do a campaign with that and Subnautica in parallel. In fact I tried to start my ARK campaign a few weeks ago already, and ran into a gamekilling bug I've never seen before in several dozen hours of play there already! -- I went up to a rock to see if it was decoration or something I could mine, found it to be decoration, but then also found I couldn't move out of the small depression in front of the rock that I had stepped into. It was only a foot deep or so, a mere ground variation, but it acted like a time-space trap. I tried everything I could think of to get out, but nothing worked. (Some things I could think of I couldn't try because I was at the start of the game and didn't have enough resources yet to attempt 'building' my way out.) I literally had to resign the campaign, or else wait around until I died from exposure or something ate me. 

I've had more than a little trouble trusting the game enough to start again on that, so I've been giving the team a chance for that bug to go through the stomping cycles.


I also own Factorio and Fortresscraft: Evolved, the latter of which I may start up again soon, too.


Also Don't Starve in several of its iterations since early access.
