Catching up on my PBEM turns. Playing the allies in Warplan, Nato in a TOAW4 Fulda scenario and the Twinkie Empire  in Shadow Empire.

I am currently working my way through the System Shock remake which is quite good. System Shock 2 is one of my all time fav's and the new remake is very faithful to that play style. I restarted after 11 hours as they did patch the key binding which was broke.

I was happily going along in the System Shock remake when the Fun Pimps dropped alpha 21 for 7 Days To Die, so we went back in to the check it out. Took about a year and half to release the patch. The game seems harder and progression has been slowed, both of which the game needed. Still you can be on solid footing by day 7, but definitely not have a lot of higher tier items like before. All the traders compounds have been redone and there a whole lot of new flavor objects in the game to make it seem more less sparse. They redid all the POI's and added 70+ new ones. New mission type, infested, which basically doubles the amount of Z's in a POI. Redid the perk and skills system again, magazine based. You perk into something and it gives you more of a chance to find the skill magazines of your chosen path. Me personally, I like a cross between learn by looting and learn by doing. This is a learn by looting system. They trying to figure out how to keep players from having everything they need by day 20 or sooner.

Overall I'm liking it so far, and the world is more interesting and it also runs better for me on my old gaming laptop, about 10 to 15 frames better with less drops.

This is day 4, have a forge and camp fire. I spec'd into a category to find the magazines i needed to get a forge, think I had to find 7. With the new forge and campfire graphics you can see when you the accessories to each item. Here I have the anvil, and the cooking pot and grill for the campfire.

Level scaling until end game??    Sheesh... as a D2 purist, the more I learn about D4 the less it appeals to me. 

I agree. What's the point if the enemy is instantly the same level as you. Just means you may as well not have levels because it would feel like the same game throughout. Never falling behind or getting ahead.

Having fun with it so far.  The cinematics are fantastic.  My Barbarian is only level 39 and due to the way every zone scales to your level he never really feels like he is getting stronger.  I understand that changes at endgame but I'm nowhere near that yet.  I'd recommend it to people who like AARPG's.

I'm only in Act 1 with my level 9 necromancer. The level scaling isn't a deal breaker for me. Although I will say that I hate the game because it's TOO good.

Finished the Diablo 4 story with morning at level 45.  Thought it was great.  Kept me engaged the whole time with good writing, excellent voice acting, and some of the best cutscenes in any game I've ever played.  That alone was worth the price of admission and I have still have lots to do in the game.

Well after my first tiny, short win in Old World I lost my third foray into the game as Egypt.

Started strong out of the gate for the first 100 or so turns but the late game got away from me and I just could not stop or even contend with an ever-stronger Greece.
