Damn - if you have to play at story level that does not bode well for me.

I haven't tried any other level yet Gus. It can be altered in game so if it is too much of a cakewalk (it won't be) I can up the difficulty. Just wanted to enjoy the character driven story without stressing to much until I get comfortable with the UI.

Already went story mode in an early fight. Easy enough to switch difficulty modes. I agree, the production value is top shelf.

I've heard there won't be any DLC's but I hope the modding community has fun with this one.

I don't consider myself an RPG specialist and I manage on normal mode.

Save often and when you fail just reload to try a new approach (or to have a bit more luck with the dice).

Worry less about closing out quests and winning fights, and instead focus on exploring, toying with the tools & systems, remembering to take it slow and trust the dice.

Many Baldur's Gate 3 quests are interlinked and not about completing them a specific way, as such, but instead exploring and finding solutions that don't have waypoints.
If you have a quest like "help the goblins kill a grove of refugees," for example, you don't have to do that, and can instead complete the quest with a more creative, or antithetical, solution.

Got off the Nautilus. Met Shadowheart on the beach.  Lusting after her already.

I am very shallow.

Great game so far.

Sir Slash

You say, 'shallow' like it's a bad thing Devon. If you're in over your head, shallow maybe just what you need. A very insightful Fortune Cookie told me that once.  :lipsrsealed:

Over my head should be my epitaph so I like the cut of your jib there Sir

Sir Slash

Sometimes in PPG games I like playing a total shit character, betraying my friends and stealing everything I can get my hands on (Skyrim). But then I usually feel guilty about it and stop. Something about a cat stuck in a tree I can't help but rescue it.

My plan to buy a new PC this summer was put on hold to buy a new Primo Smoker grill for our vacation home instead (lumps of smoky meat goodness take precedence over PCs)
I do have a PS5 where I finished playing Cyberpunk on with all the bells and whistles enabled and it was a blast - Do you think Baldurs Gate will translate well to console?  I hate to say it but I am beginning to use that more than the PC for gaming (when I can get my kids off it)

Heretical thoughts such as these go well with the "End of Times" in which we are now living.  :nono2:  :nono2: .

Maybe I suck, but I'm finding at "medium" difficulty this game is hard. I've had to switch to exploration mode and I still lose a lot of fights.

Same for me too.
