Thus originated the English reverse "V" sign (those two fingers in a "V" with
the knuckles facing the recipient).  The English equivalent of the bird but with a
humourous English overtone of impending death as well.

That is the basis of the middle finger flip off. It was used as a insult to show the French they still had thier fingers. :}

Both are good in their own right.

Hi guys here are two vids of my archer hunting exploits.  The first one is posted in my blog and in the AAR sections. 

LOL.  Fun to watch.

Those archers in that first one (Team Deathmatch) weren't terribly smart ones, standing down on the ground at nearly point blank range with the melee people.  I always have the most problems from ones on top of buildings and standing together in groups.  Otherwise, they're quite fun (and usually easy) to murderize if you can get near them.  :D

OMG!  It seems like everyone is spamming Shield Bash these days.  I've tried it a couple times but keep dropping it for the faster shield block movement perk. 

I'm not saying you do, Jomni, just a couple people in this match just do it back-to-back-to-back.  :)

I'm sure it's been brought up numerous times before, but I made a post about it on PI forums.  Hope they give that thing a cooldown of some kind as that seems to be the problem. 

You didn't use it near as repetitively as a couple other guys.  You can block it with your own shield, and quickly take a side swing afterward that can do a small bit of damage, before raising your shield back up in time to block his next one.   But that makes the combat take even far more longer and one slip-up to get out of timing and he's back to locking you down for long periods.  I think I could take one of these spammers out, given enough time, but they always manage to spam it enough for some of their buddies to show up and start stabbing me in the back.  It'd take like 4 or 5 minutes to kill a Shield Bash spammer with those little whittling rebuttals.  :-\

I bet my post will conjure up a big sore spot. 

This game will be amazing once they get the combat fixes squared away.  It already feels like it's taking forever.  ;D

Chivalry is cheap today.  I get that they are both fun.
I do not play any real shooters right now.  Does it hold
that Chiv has better combat and WotR more depth?
Or am I missing something?  There has been a lot of back and forth.
I have all the Mount and Blade stuff but have not played a lot.

For me, Chivalry combat is more streamlined.  Only a few clicks are needed and timing is key. Different mouse clicks for different directions.  I find it more elegant.  WotR has deeper combat where you decide the swing direction by mouse movement and swing strength by button holding duration.  But my tactic involves light and fast swings so it turns into a click fest.  It is also quite hard to kill a knight in full armor (unless you use the proper weapon or hit in the right spot) so it adds to the click fest feel.  But in WotR, teamwork is key just like the Battlefield series of shooters.

Nice game Nefaro.  I did poorly on that blizzard map because I'm geared up for archer hunting.  Unfortunately, your team is full of knights.  Also you are smart enough to leave a full squad guarding your flag.  If you left that alone, I would have captured or turned it neutral as you can see from my actions (always going to that flag... but no one to help me).   I suspect my teammates are archers. Lol!

Heh.  That can be a problem, sometimes, when too many of your teammates are playing archers - can't hold or take flags very well.

Thanks for the kudos.  I still haven't purchased a mount with barding, but I need to.  I have a terrible tendency of my horse getting killed by a stab from the first guy I'm charging down or some crossbowman 1-shotting it.  I'm guessing that an armored Rouncy with speed buffs is the way to go?  You look to have the cavalry thing down well.  :)  Or maybe a destrier .. but just how much more health do those actually have, I wonder (if it's worth it)?

Edit:  Another thing - I see you're using the the other heavy helmet with the extra throat guard option.  My impression of that one was that it was possibly worse than some of the better medium helms because I seemed to get face-chopped more often in it.   The frogmouth helm seems to be the only one that can stop most blows to the face, though.
