BTW Asid, I know why we got pounded on so much at the forrest in our game.

I just found out that if you divide your unit you can give other options to each individual vehicle you cannot do as a group.
For example; I was able to setup three Warriors supressing the right side of the forrest, while unloading and then advancing the infantry.
Bringing in one or two tanks to help with supression made my grunts reach the forrest pretty much unscathed.
They could then begin their mopping up operation, because the Red rifle teams were being supressed. Worked quite well.

It takes a bit of micro management, but there you have it. Did you know you could do this?

No - I don't mean about confusion - I meant "Go here, do that"...I was frenetically changing from gunner to map to external to gunner...

It's all good though - it heightens the senses.

It does add to the immersion  O0

I may not be on after all, having heard of todays list from the boss. We'll see. During the week, Monday to Thursday I'll be available from 20:00GMT.

I will be on-line anyway. 20:00 (GMT+1) is also fine during the week.

Definitely - and I wouldn't have it any other way. I was just a bit stressed. It was also because it was my first mission - online or otherwise

Yes i did :)

Things like this can be practised and learned by playing single player. You can take your time and experiment. There is a lot of depth and complexity available in Steel Beasts. The beauty is however that you do not need to delve that deep. You can play on the "F5" map view and never enter the 3D world. Your choice  O0

We will experiment some more next time  :knuppel2:

The route was lousy with enemy ATGM teams and infantry.
Here's one of the missile hits on our Abrams.  They survived most of them, but took some damage.

There were multiple counter-attacks by T-80s and friends.

Hole in one!

One of Asid's many kills in the last engagement:

Their final counterattack was pretty heavy.  Our Abrams up front were running out of ammo and we had to pull back for extra support.  Luckily we had enough forces left to finish them all off.

The enemy infantry and missile teams held us up on our route to the objective.  Due to lack of artillery support, we had to send in our infantry to dig them out, which took a lot of time.

We didn't quite get sight of HW7, but we took out the OpFor in the area and captured the objective.  Final dispositions:
