Con, Pete, glad to hear you and yours are safe.

Prayers for the victims and their families.

The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Glad safe, and stay safe.

Apparently, one of the dead attackers at the airport got an assault rifle in there, too.

A curious detail: no responsibility claim in Arabic yet (as of about 30 minutes ago). The A'maq news release was written for Western audiences first and foremost.

I haven't heard claims of assault rifle fire yet; but ISIS' press release indicates that was the plan.

For what it is worth, some witnesses claim they heard gunfire right before the first explosion.

This smaller explosion made people run into the main hall and this is where the second bigger explosion happened.
Their was a third bomb but fortunately this one didn't go off and now they are hunting the terrorist down who carried this one.

During this search a couple of minutes ago in Schaarbeek (part of Brussels) police found another nailbomb like the ones used in the airport.  In the same building they found an Isis flag and chemicals.

Last friday police caught in Molembeek (also part of Brussels) the 10th terrorist (and sole survivor) of the Paris attacks a few months ago.
There was a sentiment in the country that this would reduce the danger ...

I heard on the news the police asking people not to tweet, facebook, periscope, or use any other types of social media to broadcast the news of on going police raids.

They just asked the media not to spread news about addresses where raids are planned or already going on.

Last friday a tv station was tipped about the upcoming raid to capture the terrorist and they went live on air before the raid started !  The terrorist could see the police outside the building live on TV and this put the operation and the safety of the participants in danger.
