I was hoping they'd have done WWII Pacific or Med instead.

Pacific theater is being worked on by Jason Williams who used to be with 1C. Personally, I think it will be much better under his watch.

As for the Med, maybe check out Cliffs of Dover: Tobruk?

Some really interesting features planned!

Quote...ability to enter and exit the cockpit, walk and swim...mouse-free experience in VR

QuoteAbility to become a regiment commander and manage your unit supplies, personnel and aircraft, massive air raids on the current gen hardware thanks to simplified flight modeling of large bomber groups, functional radars, dozens of painstakingly recreated air including Tu-2 and B-29 bombers, naval and ground unit types including infantry squads to attack, protect and avoid.

That's funny. My enforced Windows reinstall is now actually able to play IL-2. Unlike the previous one that worked for all other games but had the apparently well-known launcher instadeath problem.

Pretty cool to have anything from the forgotten war at all. DCS already has a few Korean era jets and I am not the biggest il2 fan. I will watch the development of this keenly but as it stands it's not on my list of "must buys".
It will be interesting how missions characterise the involvement of the North Korean allies involvement especially.
It's only relatively recently that their have been admissions that a fair few Russian pilots flew on the North Korean side iirc. As for Chinese involvement. Not sure how official that was and how many flew for the North Koreans. Not an expert on the Korean War but am interested in it. So colour me curious.
Although I do know a fair bit about the operations of two Australian aircraft carriers in the korean war. The HMAS Sydney and the HMAS Melbourne.

Who is now in the mood to watch the korean war movie, Devotion :P

Exactly what I was thinking, too, Mig Alley! If you never had the privilege of playing Mig Alley (2000) by Rowan Software here are some contemporary reviews of that game.

Unrivaled to this day. I'd be shocked if this title is able to meet or exceed the very high bar set so long ago. They just don't make them like they used to.
