Gaming through the Apcolypse

CMBN. I'm 13 turns from the end of the very last battle in the Road to Monteborg campaign. That should fit into the Mayan End of the World schedule nicely. If I'm still here Sat. morning, maybe I'll buy the 2.0 upgrade and re-play the last few turns and see if there's any great difference. I don't want to waste $10 bucks if the world's gonna end. That wouldn't make any sense at all.

True. Key assignment is what makes me not like FC as well.  And it's different per aircraft.  Study sims with just one aircraft are better but these games still feel like work.

I'll be playing Iron Front.  It is frustrating but finishing a task (not even a whole mission) is quite satisfying if the event triggers fire off as planned.

Big mix-- lots of Time (end of 13th Baktun and start of 14th baktun).  Maybe the 13th was a bad baktun.  It started in 1618 as the 30-years war got under way.  Partly in celebration of the end of the 13th Baktun, I'll be playing some 30-years war stuff (Hochst and Fleurus 1622 at least) and then some FOTS, and ROF and Iron Front and CMBN:CWF 2.0

Should be.  Wind, snow and freezing rain are making trees and powerlines fall down and go boom here though so I can't guarantee anything.

Yes RoF. Never having played it before it is taking a commitment for me to learn, one I have had a tough time keeping through the flu and lack of time. SDR if the blizzard doesn't blow you away let me know. Otherwise back to Toy Soldiers (which is quite good) or starting a new Commander: The Great War campaign to satiate my waning WWI kick.

Anguille, pay no attention to those two.  They are just jealous of my Warlord prowess.  I have units and cities and spells to research each turn.  I have planets to terraform and enemies to crush under my boot heel.  Those two, heck, those two ENJOY having all that time to plan their next move.
