p.s.  I've already got Sengoku, so if someone wants it, send me a PM.  Posts on the paradox forums seem to indicate its a Steam code, but I'm not sure.

Kind of an interesting post from Johan at paradox concerning their past partnership with ageod....kind of calls them out and in a way says their game engine was not good enough.  Says they were way behind schedule and their last games werent profitable.  This is at post 23.  If this was truly the case, you would have thought paradox would have known about the engine and profitability before bringing them on in the first place.

Agreed...not sure why he felt saying that stuff now was useful in anyway.  Seemed like a reasonable breakup at the time, they should have just left it at that versus stirring it up now.

People have been clamoring for a Napoleonic era game to cover the hole between Pdox's EU3 and Victoria 2 games.  But it sounds like this one may not be terribly long, so I hope the modders can add a little extra length to it (and the girth is fine?!).

I hate to say it but it does look very close to a latter stages game of EU3 with the optional sprites? Is it going to be sufficiently different to be a truly "Napoleonic" game, or is it really an EU3 "Lite"?

It looks like EU3 Lite.  With most of the focus on pushing the large amounts of armies around the big map.  At least there was a primitive character system in Sengoku - this one just seems to be about herding armies around in real-time, and the military side is the weakest facet of the Clausewitz games.  I don't have many expectations, but I pre-ordered the damn thing anyway so maybe I'll be surprised.

The army management is closer to AGEOD style than the very simple EU3 army management. I think there are significant tech differences as well. RPS found it to be fairly solid and that it rose above being simply EU3 lite (although the preview was highly multiplayer centered).

Sorry, I meant EU4 Lite (as Sengoku was CK2 lite). 

I did pre-order it just because they look to have improved army building, at the least, and I'm kinda curious as to how that turned out.  I still don't have big expectations, though, especially since the original dev team left and we can assume others took over mid-stream.  At the price point they're selling it - I don't expect a lot of updates or add-ons either since they'll probably be focused on it's big brother, EU4.

Warlock came out at the same price and has had updates and DLC up the wazoo.

I've been playing it, but can't really say anything until the NDA gets lifted (I assume next week).
