Sad to say that at this point, I'm pretty much past even caring, as Jar-Jar Abrams will complete what George Lucas began with "Episode I": the destruction of Star Wars (at least the one I knew and loved).  EA making new games for the franchise is merely the crap icing on a crap cake.  Bleh.

My way of looking at this : At least EA might actually make something. And that beats absolutely nothing being done with the license at all.

Oh wait! Never mind! There was last year's Kinect Star Wars. Breathe in the wonder...

Some friends and I played this as a game version of a cheezy movie night. The ridiculous dance bits actually represented game play highlights.

Because they had no interest in paying the expenses of actually running a games company that had frankly become a dessicated husk of what it once was?

Maybe they'll ressurect or revisit Battlefront III or something along those lines. A game like that on a Battlefield scale, complete with land speeders and the like, could be incredibly bad ass.

im with you all the way Arctic - EA may be the emporer/vader incarnate but its not like were swamped with decent Star Wars games - hell just reskin BF3 with stormtroopers and rebellion troops and all the right vehicles, AT ATs and......................

Don't you think it's a bit of a slap in the face to close a studio that makes Star Wars games, and then go on to...make Star Wars games?  They didn't have to close it completely; as it is, they're going to be paying a team to work on a game.  Why couldn't they have retained some LucasArts devs and pay them to do it?
