and of those I have about 12 installed and maybe played 30 at some point.
I thought that was bad.
Then I went over to GoG to buy IL-2 and realized I have 48 games sitting in my library over there, of which I currently have 1 installed. ::)
I don't even want to think about what my library at Matrix adds to my uninstalled/unplayed collection. :-[
It really has helped my game buying, knowing that at any given time I have at least 200 games I've never even played sitting in my library awaiting their chance to shine. Pathetic, truly pathetic.
I think we can all say more or less the same, mate. To this day I haven't understood why we do this. Myself, I just never seem to be in the mood for any particular game, so instead I'll just buy another one because surely that will be The One, right? Pfft.
Every now and again a real gem will come along and hook me for a while. Currently I'm smitten with Shadow of Mordor. I'm sure I'll be sick of it by this time next week though.
I wish I had a solution, but at least I can assure you that you aren't on your own.
Sometimes real life changes my gaming plans. I was previously planning to try a less-humorous DAR of Kaiju-a-Go-Go (using one of the new skins for Ginormousaur which turns it into an Alienesque skeleton) to talk about how horrifyingly evil playing this game is as you terrorize cities and eventually continents into submission by killing civilians where they live as the enemy of the world.
Then Friday the 13th happened. ::) :buck2: Yeah, not so much interested in doing that 'for fun' now....
This thread makes me feel better about myself with about 110 games on Steam, about 25 installed right now and about 10 that I have never played at all.
52 games on my Steam account with 39 installed. I feel like an amateur compared to others.
I'm hoping Jarhead and Judge Dredd will weigh in here... ;)

That's so me. I call it gaming ADD. Which leaves me with 295 in my Steam library and 75 installed (doesn't mean I spend any time playing them however).

Hi I'm budd, i have a gaming problem
Steam=248
GG=24
GOG=25
Matrix=36
there's also some HPS,Battlefront, games from developers sites, ect, ect.
At least the GG, GOG games i've got some play time in on all the games, steam probably 1/4th i've never installed.
When does the holiday sale start again :uglystupid2:

I have 317 in Steam alone.
Probably another 130+ on Gamersgate although some of those are crossovers with Steam keys and/or bundle deals.
105 at GOG.
Another 60 to 80 between places like Matrix, Desura, etc.

EDIT:
This also doesn't count all the MMOs and Free-To-Plays I downloaded directly from the publisher. That probably adds up to at least a dozen.
Some impressive numbers I'm seeing posted here. I clearly underestimated tgb and budd. Nef I had pegged though :)
I'm definitely in A-ball compared to some of you major leaguers. 70 Steam games, 44 installed.
Surprising winner in terms of hours played: Sword of the Stars II, clocking in at 147 hours. (CKII is a close second at 143 hrs.) I seriously love SotSII, warts and all.
All this is a little deceptive, since it doesn't account for several non-Steam games that I've poured **way** too many hours into: Combat Mission, Graviteam Tactics, Decisive Campaigns, Hearts of Iron I, II, III, Company of Heroes, OOTP, WitP:AE...
356 steam games (well actually less since there's some extra files / expansions / DLC that I think is included)
94 GOG
maybe 4-5 matrix
some UBI and Origin but not really much compared to the other two (5-10 total and most of the UBI is also on steam)
668 on Steam...you can all bite me.
^HOLY CRAP

I'm 33 games on Steam, 20 installed. I never buy a game I don't intend on playing hard.

Cant beat the numbers put down so far, lol.
It's the insanely cheap sale prices that always makes me click the "buy," button, so I do empathize. My problem is that I still haven't gotten rid of games that I store-bought a million years ago, so there they sit...just following me around when I move...patiently.

Absolutely. I have 60-odd games on my wishlist and alerts set up on isthereanydeal.com. As soon as a game drops in price, which happens all the time, I'm on it. Buying a game just isn't the "event" it used to be. Sometimes it's hard for me to take the fact that I have games I haven't even installed, let alone played.
only 78 Games, 45 installed ...the caveat is: most of them were expensive day 0 purchases with only minimal discount :-[
a few of those are Matrix/Slitherien games which got a Steam key
well, some are rebuys of older games (like Graviteam stuff) to have them all in one place
and a few are older (about 1 year after release) premium titles, i gave in to buy in one of those many seasonal Steam sales ...but didn't explored those in detail yet.
there was a kind of safeguard mechanism in play that my system spec were so low that i was reluctant to buy some premium games when the hype (here at the Grogs) was at the max ..because i knew it would never look like in the trailer-vids or let's plays on my screen
...but in the meantime i got a new graphicscard when Witcher3 was the must-have, and recently my mainboard died on me, and so forced to upgrade all the rest and now i have a decent rig with a Core i5-6600K CPU and the GTX970 GPU
gents, also and don't forget the compleat Battlefront Combat Mission Collections ::)
and some DCS sitting on the HDDs
239 on steam, dont want to count the others.......
Well, I have 888 games on Steam.. erm...
At the moment I have 27 installed on this Linux laptop, and I hardly play any of them, since its at work. Maybe a lunchtime casual Lyne session. Or Metro.
My home Win8 PC must have about 80-100 installed. All my wargames/strategy and rpgs mainly. With lashings of indie/casuals.
I load Steam up, and can't find one I want to play... so piss off to the consoles and shoot some anonymous people in Planetside 2 instead. Such is life.
I do support multi-console habits, and mobile gaming, and have a propensity to want to try every new game mechanic I can find out. No wonder I have no money and no time. :)
I dread to think about the number of games under Matrix/Slitherine, GOG, Gamersgate.co.uk, and previous Desura, Impulse, Direct2Drive, Origin, Battle.net etc...
*shudder*
I think I may need help.
^(Flixjax) That's kind of what got me. GoG has always been this place where I knew I had a few games sitting but I never really "counted" them in my collection. So I went to install IL-2 and decided to install their GoG Galaxy which organized my games in my library and pointed out that I have 48 games sitting there! That's not a "few" LOL.
Unlike MikeGER, though, almost all of my games are from sales and bundles. I have very few Day 1 or full-price purchases. A few like Skyrim, but most are deeply discounted and even repeat buys (like Morrowind and Oblivion, M2TW, etc.)

That's the way I'd like to approach it. I can say that my likelihood of playing a game is related to how much I pay for it.
I'm trying to adopt this attitude more. Like when Graviteam Tactics was on sale for $5 I thought about buying the collection, but I'm just not going to play it so why bother?
On the other hand, I've been waiting on Atilla to drop to the $5 range to pick it up. I want to play it eventually, but not today. However if it hits the right price point I want to pick it up.
If you take the total cost of the games I don't play vs. the total cost if I only bought the games I actually play at full price, I'd probably save money just going full price and only buying games I intend to play.
You might have a solid strategy there Swatter. ???
I currently have 189 games on Steam, 69 on Gamersgate (along with a bunch of add-ons and games I bought individually and then again as part of a bundle), and 89 on GOG...
... and I still can't find anything I feel like playing. :(
This thread is like an AA meeting for gamers.
I thought *I* was bad with 307 Steam titles. Most of them I've played once or twice and I'm done. Many of them I'd like to get back to, but I only have a 500GB HD so I have to be careful with my space.
On GOG I think I have 30 or so titles. Same deal over there - would love to have time to play through some of them, but just don't have time.

This is like one of those hot dog eating contests... I'm agog at the amount being consumed, and yet I can't look away...
A hot.dog eating contest without the inevitable...results.
I didn't even know here were 888 games available total on Steam!
Some don't count. I caved and got the "I Am Bread/Goat Simulator" bundle. I totally don't get Goat Simulator, still. All you do is run around and butt things with your head and blow them up, sending your goat into a rag-doll physics spiral. Lots of things to climb and people to screw with, but it's just...okay?
I Am Bread is...well, that's a short-bus game. :)
Needless to say, neither are on my hard drive right now, after one playthrough each. :(
Had to wait until I could count.
GoG: 133
GG: 252
Steam: 435
Unknown number of boxed games including from Matrix
Obviously there are some overlaps between GG and Steam (via Steam keys), and GG includes DLC in the list (though Steam doesn't), and maybe 15 or 20 of GG's count are actually collection entries which were then recounted (e.g. Crysis Collection then also counted as however many Crysis games.)
Still, not too bad. Blumps up by another horrifying factor when considering mobile and especially console games (PS1, 2, 3, PSP, iPhone).

280 in Steam. Now what I want to know is: how do you organize them???
145 steam, 60 GoG, and a stupid number of board games, collected since the late 60's. Hundreds. Many hundreds. Do they count?
This forum is aptly named. I are a grognard, and like many of you, never met a wargame or strategy game I didn't like....at least for the first week or so!

I have 63 and am ocd enough to wish I could perma-delete some of the ones I know I'll never touch, I created a folder called the 'attic' and put them all in there and then made it a hidden folder - it annoys me I can see them when I don't even want them
I have about 12 installed and have recently gone back to enjoying ones I should have when I bought them - really enjoying sup com forged alliance and will move onto sup com 2 after that
There's been nothing that's really tickled my wallet for about 6 months - I'm not a witcher or a fallout player, but I know you can consider me missing for a few days after total war warhammer waaargh war hammer comes out, until then I've got enough classics of their day to dive into
Only just noticed a free divinity updated version waiting and I didn't give that anywhere near enough love and devotion
I probably have 70 or so on my wishlist. Every so often I go back in and see something and go, 'what was I thinking? I don't want that.'
17 on the wishlist, many have been there more than once. Spice Road is a good example...I just can't seem to pull the trigger on it. Anyone with experience with it?

@bbmike -- do you use Steam's "Set Category" function? I'm a big fan of this for keeping everything nice and tidy --
@undercovergeek -- you can "Hide" games that you never play so they don't show up in your Library. Of course, am at work at the moment so can't walk you through it, perhaps someone else can (or I can when I get home later). It's great. There are lots of Steam games I've consigned to the oblivion of "Hide", so I don't have to be reminded I own them...
I only have a handful in my wishlist. Frankly I'm pretty saturated when it comes to computer games. More and more I find myself sticking with games I already know how to play rather than learn how to play something newer and shinier. I have maybe 10 total games in a rotation that I just circulate through when I'm in a gaming mood.
Undoubtedly that's why I end up re-playing the TES RPG games rather than break out into something totally different, or keep going back to M2TW rather than the newer R2 or Shogun2.
I do like the idea of Witcher 3 and Fallout 4, but I've never finished Witchers 1 and 2, nor Fallout 3 and NV...so I just don't see the point of jumping on the new games (at full price at least). If they drop to hamburger money cost I'll probably pick them up over Xmas or something....makes no sense whatsoever.

Oh, yes. Set Category and Hide game are 2 functions all Steam users should use -- and of course, I'm useless because I can't remember how to do these offhand. But Google it!

Iirc right click on the game and it will tell you what folder it's in, simply create a new folder and drop it in there

And the 7 Years War game looks mighty good too; can't hurt to throw some $$$ the developer's way so he knows that he did good.
.......
is this what it means to Grog?
You guys have some serious hours invested in your games. I probably don't have 1,000 hours total among ALL of my games!
I think my highest played is Skyrim, and that's somewhere around the 220 hours mark.
If you're logging 1800 hours in a game, well then shit you don't really need a whole lot in your library, you know?
So the 516 I have invested in Civ IV BtS makes it ok to just play that one game? Or maybe the 556 in Warlock? The 185 in CKII? Or the 100 in EUIV? I even have 91 in Age of Wonders III? Is that enough diversity Drivin' Cat?
184 games on the Steam wishlist.
Not quite so many on GG, but on the other hand I don't think they overlap much.
Haven't looked at the GoG wishlist yet, but again I don't think they overlap much.
Probably less than 40 on GG and GoG combined.
I'm just a Wannabe Grog I guess. 12 On Steam plus 9 more on my wishlist, 17 on GOG, and 2 each Matrix and NWS. ETW Most played at 600+ hours. Do I have to leave the room now? :-[
So far we have:
Max Steam games: 888
Min Steam games: 12
Lets figure out the highest hour total for one game. Ill throw my hat in the ring with 1125 hours on Skyrim.

Most I've played
50 hours on Warhammer 40k Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising
then we have 50-40 hours-ish
Mount and Blade Warband
Planetside 2
Elder Scrolls Online
Dragon Age: Origins
The Secret World
And surprisingly I have 35 hours clocked in for Dungeon of the Endless!
11 hours on Civ V. Shameful.
Most of my gaming hours have gone on MMO's off Steam though.

*steadies self to look*
256 games. 91 installed.
And this does not count the Humble Bundle games I've never even unlocked, Matrix, and ca. 80% of everything fashioned by the hand of John Tiller.
The REALLY horrible thing is I think, of the Steam games, I've played "You Must Build a Boat" the most in recent weeks. Cost me $1. Pound for pound, the best play-it-while-not-sober game I've ever purchased.
Not a Steam game, but I won't even admit how many hours I have put into World of Warcraft... let's just say it could have been quite a part time job over the last 11 years.
113 on Steam, of which I haven't played 9 or so, MP games that came bundled with SP versions and the second season of Sam & Max which I didn't touch at the time as I needed a break from the humor after season 1.
I rarely purchase something that I don't play, though it can be months before I sit down and play it if it's part of a bundle.
I'm wondering how many copies I would have of some games if Steam allowed users to have multiple copies of the same game. I have 3 complete original Cossacks series in physical and digital download copies, I think.
That's one thing that makes digital downloading different from how buying packs in a store worked: you don't actually get additional copies of a game that you already own, even though you are paying for them.
Another interesting question is how many of the games that we own digital download copies of are also in the house somewhere in physical shape.
I'd estimate maybe 20% of my Steam games, call it 30-40 or so, are copies of physical games I already own.
I know that there's this feeling that buying a physical copy is somehow more permanent, but I'm finding that many of my old disk games won't even install on my newer computer. Heck, my new laptop doesn't even have a CD drive.
There is the installation issues you'd deal with...in my case my DVD drive crapped out about three years ago and since I was into Steam big time by then, and I didn't use my computer to watch movies, I lived with it. So I've bought a few games on Steam that I already have on CD/DVD though they're el cheapo on Steam usually (GTA VC and SA to name but two).
I'm hoping that M2TW and the Kingdoms expansion go on sale because I resent having to buy them again because the disk versions don't work on my new PC. It's the principle, you see.
I gotta have a shitload of Warlock, CivV and XCOM time in... will check steam when I get home. Making greek potatoes and a lamb meat dish and some non-lettuce salad that may or may not have kalamata olives in it.
