I never thought I would actually feel the need for more WWII titles, but imagine a WWII game with this engine and just as thorough of an OOB.

Hmm, I think the infantry combat mechanics should be made much more detailed if the series goes for a ww2 setting.

I'd rather they keep improving this series, set in the same period.  There's just soooo much WW2 out there.  I can see the draw for a WW2 setting (what with the expansive OOB) but part of the reason I'm digging this is because it isn't.

Reminds me.. I need to fire up the ARMA 2 collection sometime soon.  Breaking my cherry with that one!  Lots to download.  :o

I'd like to see some middle east variants.  Get the Merkava and Arab variants of units...maybe some Chinese and Japanese....lots of room for DLC.

Moved my tanks just in time. Unfortunately they only lived a few more minutes before being killed by enemy armor.

Kushan and I took a hill that overlooked a couple of sectors and then AI commenced to rain down helios on us.... so much so that is blotted out the sun.  Have to remember next time to add extra AA coverage because the sector we held was in the middle and that is where the AI converged and committed most of its assets to.  If you take the high ground.... they will come.

  didn't this design group make R.U.S.E. (which sounded bad in every way)?  And wasn't R. U. S. E. all about WWII?

  Anyway, I got the EE.  It seems to have some built-in DLC (crazy -- but I guess that's how you update a game these days in some cases)  Working up from the bottom, I am.  It does play pretty fast for me.  I just keep saving in single player.  Can't do that in skirmish mode so usually the AI overwhelms me there.

Something that I know I will buy instantly is very rare.  Almost any addon to Airland Battle at this point would be an instant purchase for me.  It has been many years since a strategy game has made me think about it while at work...driving in the car...etc.  So now I'm waiting in the McD's breakfast line thinking "Ok, last game those EF-111's devistated my AAA...maybe if I swap the Buk's for Strelas at like a 3 to 1 ratio...I could actually have better cover."  Then I'm doing paperwork in the office thinking "Ok...so Strelas then...but do I do handheld with troops or mobile light armor?  Probably soldiers..."  Then I'm in the bathroom at work thinking "Ok...so do I do BMP or Airlift...if I do BMP do I do anti-personell with the grenade launcher or Anti-tank with the Konkur missile...  Konkur I think."

Then everyone goes to bed...I start the game and get devastated by enemy troops in light fast APC's...which I'm totally unprepared for. 

So I go to work the next day and.....

I don't think you have to pay anything Republic, at least for W:EE all the DLCs were free.  :)
