Huw the Poo

Come on Star, spit it out.  I want to laugh at your misfortune! :D

GDS_Starfury

its not so much misfourtune as misinformation thats getting on my nerves.  my issue is that the more I play the more I see how gamey the equipment is modeled.
recon teams on foot in a tree line spotted by moving vehicles 500 meters away.
Jaguars and other ground attack aircraft coming in at stupid high altitudes when IRL they buzzed along the tops of trees.
all aircraft breaking towards enemy lines after their attack runs instead of away from them.
ranges for weapons that in no way represent actual capabilities.
and the biggest gripe dovetails with the other thread about gamers on forums bitching about things.  if I started trying to correct all the stupid notions on their forums Id have no time for anything else.  the developer however seems to listen to a lot of their bitching when they release patches for game balance.
balance? I wasnt aware that warfare was either balanced or fair.  you want to give the commies numbers?  fine, that squares with history.  but dont give me US or UK kit and tell me that their electronics are inferior to similar Warsaw Pact equipment.
the game is a lot of fun but it could do with a serious reality patch.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

uh-oh - someone shot his F117 down with a pop gun

no one shoots down my 117's.  though why theyre in the game and flying during daylight is another question.

GDS_Starfury

I feel your pain Starfury.  I do wish the game could be modded to reflect realism rather than balance.  I'm a PACT player and I know it would disadvantage me but that should be offset with me having greater numbers of assets.

When I see a NATO player spam Starships while I only have a handful of T-72's I shake my head in irritation.

GDS_Starfury

not as much irritation as seeing USAF planes with ECM rated as poor.
I also would like to play the campaigns from either side.
still, Im having fun with it even though I havnt tried online battles yet.

10v10 games are a lot of fun.  The smaller games I always end up with whiny teenagers...

Which is why they need to allow hot drop-ins for MP battles.  Overall I like Wargame, but there are a bunch of annoying things that hold it back from being a true classic for me, such as the preceding.
"As I understand from your communication, Mr. Engle, you're on the brink of self-destruction. May I shake your hand? A brilliant idea! I speak as one who has destroyed himself a score of times.  I am, Mr. Engle, a veteran corpse. We are all corpses here! This rendezvous is one of the musical graveyards of the town. Caters to zombies hopping around with dead hearts and price tags for souls." - Angels Over Broadway
