So I got this, seemed like a steal for 5 bucks, but I can tell already I'm going to have to spend some cash on scenery.  The auto gen that ships with the game looks awful, like falcon before BMS.  I cranked everything up in the settings and it still doesn't look remotely as pretty as the screen shots I've scene. 

The main purpose for this is to get some back ground knowledge in civi aviation, I'm pretty good with dcs, but I've been itching to see what a big airliner feels like.  I wonder how much free content is out there to pretty this thing up ?

Did anybody try to install FSpassenger or Airhauler.  According to the forums this shouldn't work : I would be very surprised if it were to work since there is no ability to use FSUIPC

I saw this on FSUIPC support board from the developer....seems like he is pretty confident he can get to work.  I think eventually most of the add-ons will likely work after the developers tweak them and it is in their best interest since having on Steam could open a huge market of additional customers.

I purchased the Steam edition yesterday at the introductory price specifically so I could check and adjust the Installer. However, I was out all evening so I was unable to go further. I will be downloading it today and should be able to have a revised install package ready over the weekend if not before.

I grabbed it too.. I heard someone on Avsim say that ASN wasn't working :-(...

This is like Graviteam going to Steam.. if you want to do an FSX reinstall, this would be so much easier!

Well, Traffic 360 doesn't appear to be working. Took off from Seattle midday and there wasn't another plane in sight.

Also, REX2 crashed on startup...so it doesn't seem that is working either  ???

I'm pleased to report that after a day of struggling (Friday) I got my development PC working well enough to do some work. I just dare not switch it off or I think it won't come on again!. It is crippled -- it won't run P3D because I had to substitute an older non-DX11 video card. but it was okay for testing with FSX and FSX-SE,

FSUIPC Version 4.938 is now available, and works as best as I can make it with FSX-SE. The installer copes with both ways FSX-SE installs (free-standing or alongside FSX Boxed), and all the hooks appear to work except for the full wind-smoothing fiddle (rarely used these days with such good weather programs), and the "G3D crash" patch. In the latter case the code in that area has changed and i'm not sure whether the fix would still be needed in any case.

Feedback on any of the FSUIPC facilities would be useful, but I may not deal with it now for a week or two!

I grabbed the Razbam metroliner at fspilot shop I think, for .10 bucks, think it's usually 50.

@ Skoop- you can pick up the MegaScenery Hawaiian Islands pack for about $3 I think.  They use photoreal imagery for the scenery.  The problem is that some of the satellite shots had cloud cover, so you get some patches that are kind of chowed up, hence they sell it for only a few bucks.  It's still very nice, and a good way to sample their scenery packs to see how you like them.

I also picked up some of the Hawaiian airports on sale.  Very, very nice and look just like the real thing.

Also, the MegaScenery stuff is almost always discounted.  Don't pay full price.  If you can't find it 40+% off post here and I'll shoot up a discount code when I get one.
