I liked the second half of Prometheus.  The first half could have been so much better, and is also where most of the stupidity is concentrated.  The first time I saw it, I was furious after the first 45 minutes or so.  Thankfully Scott redeemed himself when things got going, and the ending has left me gagging to see where the story goes.

Also, looking at the deleted scenes, it could've been much worse.  Hopefully the theatrical cut is what Scott considers to be the director's cut (especially after the continual and protracted mauling that Blade Runner was subjected to).

Hicks should have nailed Ripley when he had the chance. What a Alien-Killing kid they could've made. Did Ripley ever get any? In the entire series? Even the ones that now didn't happen? And how do the Aliens do it? I wouldn't get mine next to that Queen. Acid for blood!!! What if she's close to that time?

I think the implication was that one of the aliens gave Ripley the Cosby treatment while she was in hypersleep between Aliens and Aliens III.

She shags Clemens in Alien 3.  She also shags an alien in Resurrection, but technically that wasn't Ripley, it was a hybrid of her clone and an alien.

Aliens established that she had a daughter on Earth (passed away by the time Ripley made it back). So she shagged someone before she shipped out on the Nostromo.

It's that daughter who is the main character in Alien: Isolation.

I thought A3 and A4 had talent, just that the talent wasn't always used well. A3 was even overtly arty (in a 90s kind of grungy way).

I'm okay with them being hypersleep dreams. That keeps them still semi-canon for anyone who cares.

Unless the film will be made using CGI characters, though, there's no way the principles will look as good as in the concept art.
