The weather effects are really something to behold in this. The clouds are great and the way light and moisture interacts with view through the canopy is very impressive. I think it may even be better than DCS. Its very beautiful.

I don't really see the problem with the price. That being said, you're not alone in feeling like it is too high. Its getting somewhat review bombed and most of the complaints have to do with the price and the need to spend extra money to get the collector airframes.

Personally, I think there is a tremendous amount of value here. There are several aircraft for each side and there are campaigns together with a dynamic career mode where you not only get to fly missions, but you get to plan them and manage an entire squadron. In DCS, you might spend $50, $60, or $70, plus for a single aircraft module and while the fidelity of the aircraft isn't as complex in IL2K, its still high and not sim-lite in the least.

IL-2 BoX was supported (and is still being supported) for a very long time. This is hopefully just the beginning for Korea. I personally think it is off to a great start.

Do they have Australian Aircraft Carriers you can fly from in it?

Well hopefully some day. I don't know if I mentioned it. The aircraft carrier HMAS Sydney was involved in the Korean war. However I don't expect it to be added, because it's tours were to fill in gaps in British carrier rotation attached to the US Seventh Fleet and it's aircraft were really only good enough to carry out ground attack sorties.
An American flying a helicopter off Sydney made the longest helicopter rescue of the war to rescue one of our pilots deep in enemy territory and escorted by two of our aircraft.

I'm aware of the contribution of the Sydney. There is a lot of speculation that carrier aviation will be added in a dlc, but I doubt Commonwealth assets will be part of the package. But, you never know!

I just trawled this thread and I did mention the Sydney and the Melbourne (which was too late for Korea), so apologies for the repeat there.

You are correct. Pretty niche stuff and I certainly do not expect anything. I certainly do not think it would be commercially viable. Most of our population that would be interested are dwindling even after saying they were tiny to begin with.
