I'm not sure China is ready to take on Japan yet.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Can I vote for Flashpoint Germany 2: Red Storm? Shamless plug alert.

Just throw two darts at the map in that region and ring the bell. Very unstable there.

Interesting.  I wonder if the reason China is so interested in these islands is to allow unimpeded access to the pacific?

they want it for future energy needs.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

My doctor wrote me a prescription for daily sex.

My wife insists that it says dyslexia but what does she know.

Also if you rattle the saber with an overseas opponent, it distracts the masses from problems at home.

True, but in order for it to ever work you would need a near endless supply of human labor and a liberal policy of human rights violations, it would never happen in Chi.....well, on second thought.

Well Japan might want a real military before pissing in China's Cheerios too often.   Of course they (like 3/4 of the freaking "free" world) are depending on American intervention in case of a real conflict.

Staggerwing

Well, the Japanese do have that 'thing' about developing actual Giant Fighting Robots... perhaps Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is close to fielding a real working Atlas. ;)

Doesn't Japan have the 3rd or 4th largest military in the world and they just call it the Boy Scouts or something?

They have the Japanese Self Defense Force.  It's not considered a "full time" army, navy, air force.  The total force is a couple hundred thousand.
