Haven't played this for a long time. what's the status of the game?

I tried a few rounds yesterday to see what they'd added/changed.  It was dead.  I live on the west coast of N. America and I could only find 2 servers with more than 3 people and a ping of less than 350.  Gameplay hasn't seemed to have changed much.  I'm less than impressed with the price of the new items they've added.  Either you grind every day for a few months to get them or you'll have to throw some more cash at the game.

Were you the one who often had problems finding games in the past, too?  Or am I thinking of someone else?

I've not tried it since the last update, only because I'm rarely in a First-Person Shooter/Slasher mood.   I'd be very sad to find that there's only a handful of people on at any one time on the US servers when I got the itch again.

Why does it have to re-download the entire game each time it updates?  It's ridiculous.

I've noticed that games I own, when they go on one of these free weekend specials, tend to get an update before and after said weekend.  But whichever dev is managing the updates for the game must just be uploading the whole damn game each time - or most of it.  >:(

I think Steam has made some companies rather sloppy about their updates.  You wouldn't see update executables of 2.6GB size every month when they had to send it to a few different places.  :o

Glad I never forked over money for this title for just that reason.  Chivalry: Medieval Warfare might be buggy, but at least there are plenty of full servers on any given day.  Shame, because I always thought WotR looked like a decent game.

It's a lot busier now that it's a free weekend but the few rounds I played were basically a bunch of regulars on horseback slaughtering new players over and over again.  That and a bazillion archers all spamming flame arrows everywhere.

Ah same old story. Maybe I should go back archer hunting on my horse.  ;D
